Preserving the Natural BeautyEach Piece of Wood is UniquePreserving the natural beauty in each unique piece of wood while enhancing the colors, patterns and texture throughout the process yields beautiful tables that are finished and protected so they can be enjoyed in every home.
Wood from the Pacific Northwest is what you will find in my portfolio as I usually source my wood from a local lumber mill. |
The nature in the Pacific Northwest is truly inspiring and I am trying to keep each piece of wood as natural as I can. |
PORTFOLIORecent ProjectsI started my venture with a board of yew, but have since then embraced many types of wood. The maple, both curly and black is abundant here. I have been able to get a large amount of a big black walnut tree. Chestnut, elm, locust, and cedar have been sourced too. The only out of area wood has been a monkey pod from Costa Rica, but that turned out great too. Even the scraps got used for a patchwork table.

Through my journey, I have come to understand that a live edge table is a broad description. I have explored the many processes possible. Every table is treated with epoxy, sanded, and finished. This can be done in many ways and it is always fun to try new techniques and tools. Sometimes it involves going to the beach finding rocks for the river table, sometimes I must design glass inserts. Sometimes I try to enhance the lines in the wood by butterflying it, keeping the pattern perfect. I have also explored the waterfall technique.
